Spanish is the official language of Peru. Two other languages - the quechua (language of Incas) and the aymara - are also spoken in the Andean areas. Aymara is spoken mainly in the area about the lake Titicaca.
In the Amazonian area, a quantity of other dialects have course, but Spanish is of use everywhere.
English in general is understood and spoken by the people in contact with the tourists. French is seldom understood. The knowledge of Spanish is thus required for those which want to learn how to know the in-depth country!
